I never thought of myself as someone who is fascinated with the possibility of extraterrestrial life. Sure, it interests me. I studied Biology, after all, and I love science fiction. But as I was making a list in my head of all my favorite - the ones that I own in DVD and kept on watching and quoting over and over again - TV shows, series, and movies, I realized that the best of them all has a theme of aliens. Contact (Jodie Foster, Matthew McConahuey) is my best movie; The X-Files is still my favorite TV show; and Steven Spielberg’s Taken will always be on the top of my DVD list. It will probably remain that way until I become an old lady sitting on my couch at night, watching TV in plus size lingerie. There’s just something about these stories that gets to me every time. I know it’s not the aliens. But it’s quite a remarkable coincidence that they are in all of them.
