Gosh, that infamous song. They even covered it on Glee, sans the baggy hip hop clothes.
Why is it that it’s so fun to sing awful songs at karaoke parties? I guess one thing is because it takes away the seriousness - you won’t be shy to sing if you’re just playing. That may be true for some, myself included. Also, it can mask the fact that you can’t really carry a tune. Well, even those who got awesome pipes can have fun at karaoke bars. Kelly Clarkson tweeted her followers, out of the blue, to join her and her friends do karaoke in Nashville this week, and this is what transpired:
You can’t even tell that some of those are actual professional singers. They let the fans take over. Looks like fun! Besides, what world-renowed singer does that? It’s so random and very cool. At least those who were actually in the vicinity got to have their fun.
