My sister got married last Saturday. It was a beautiful and intimate celebration witnessed by family and friends. I couldn’t be happier because my sis looked so happy. She’s got a good guy on her side and that makes me feel assured, too. Maybe there’s a lot more to say, but I felt I didn’t have to even when I greeted the newly weds. For much of the time my sister had been living with me in the city, she’s shown how much of an awesome adult she has become. I realized that even though I’ve been so independent for much of my life since I went to college, I’ve depended on my sis a lot lately as well because there are things that she just does a lot better than I do. So I’m pretty sure she’s going to be fine in facing the new challenges that married life brings. It’s going to be another one of those things that she’ll learn before I do.
When they finally get to settle in Canada, as planned, I’d surely hope to visit them not too far in the future. I’ll book me some Toronto hotels and maybe look for a Sarah McLachlan show while I’m there.
