Somebody reminded me that February is the love month. My first thought? Ooohhh, concerts!
I heard Sheena Easton will be in town. Peter Cetera, too. Joanna Ampil will have her own show at the Music Museum. I saw her as Maria at Stages’ West Side Story and she was really good. I have this theory, though, that theater singers do not translate well in the pop scene, but that’s just me. Martin Nievera and Pops Fernandez will have their show a bit earlier (February 6), while Ariel Rivera and Zsa Zsa Padilla will be at the Captain’s Bar on the 13th and 14th. Side A/MYMP/Freestyle will have their Love 2 Love 2 Love show at the Araneta Coliseum on the 15th. Not up for any that? How ‘bout Fall Out Boy? They’ll be here on the 13th.
So whatever your type of gig may be, go grab some roses and treat your hunnies to a night of music. Oh, my bad. Honey. Singular. Don’t forget to bring her to dinner, too. Girls also like to eat, you know.
As for me, I might have to harass some single friends to watch Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah, Ze Musikal with me. Might as well laugh my head off while others are going all moony eyed and touchy-feely.
