After our badminton game last Saturday, my friend and I had our dinner at McDonald’s. Over french fries and spaghetti, we talked about future plans and options. The thing is, we don’t have any. Or if we have, we didn’t really spill them out.
We talked about boys a little and the increasingly bleak hope of finding that one great love thing (that’s mostly me). But I won’t talk about it because it’s just, well, pathetic. Then our conversation shifted to career stuff. We agree that our current job is not going to bring us anywhere special. Most of my friends and colleagues, when faced with this question, point to looking for any form of a small business opportunity to start with. I’m not sure if that road is something I’ll eventually take. But if not, what? I’m too old to be grappling with the question of what the future holds for me. It’s about time I start building my own.
