Apparently, experts are finding significant and increasing evidence that links cell phone usage and the development of certain brain tumors.
Even if this claim is proven beyond reasonable doubt, can we really do without mobile phones after being so dependent on it? I remember TPS once wrote about meeting with her husband at the Mall of Asia with no specific place in mind, and no cell phone to aid them, but they found each other just the same by relying on instinct. That was a really cute story, but I guess they are an exception to the rule. Most of us wouldn’t even go out of the house without our mobile.
For years we’ve been told that "smoking is dangerous to your health." Maybe someday cell phone boxes would carry a similar warning. I’m fairly certain people will buy them anyway.
i use my cellfone not only in texting people but also as my alarm clock and my calendar (mostly birthday/occasion and appointment/gimik reminders). without it, i would probably be late at work most days and become an unthoughtful friend who always forgets to greet her friends during their birthdays and attend an important gathering! now that’s alarming, right?
zar, true love yun. hehehe.
By the way, I have a phone na (after less than 2 years)…apparently, true love only works in short distances; hirap na pag Makati-Laguna.
Cell phone use also affects fertility, the brain, the kidneys, etc, and is linked to headaches, memory loss, concentration difficulties, dizziness, etc…and so they say! Ang dami na reports on the effect of cell phone use! Di mo na alam kung alin ang totoo or at least which has some scientific basis! ANO BA TALAGA?
oh well. my brain is already damaged to begin with.

you are right — cellphones have become somewhat a necessity to some of us. it came to a point when i realized i don’t own my fone — my fone owns me!
when i was still with spi, i tried, for a month or so i think, not to carry my fone whenever i leave my cube. when the kids downstairs (bosses) asked me why i am not answering my phone, i told them i don’t have it with me; it’s enough that i bring it home with me at night… too much ‘mobility’ is dangerous to my health.
ps: ganda ng story ni tps at th ah!
