So you launched your cause
To this infinite space, which I breathe
A war to all things past and inconsequential
You griped like you always did
You worshipped yourself, like only you could
Forgive me if I never did
Put weight on your words; I never heard them
My own are bitter enough to swallow
Like a pill you wouldn't take lest it open your eyes
And shatter that image of grandeur I never aimed for
It was never my place to settle the score
And it was not yours to keep counting
The world is filled with better people
And you and I are still just tools
Meant to bore each other and remain as fools
Salamat, karmee. I’m glad you’re into poetry these days, otherwise you might find this one too negative and/or blah, hehe.
I love writing poems. I love the freedom it affords me to say things that may actually mean entirely differently from how the readers would perceive it. And also, I can mean exactly what I write and pretend otherwise when confronted. Ha! ha!
